Chilwin Cheng brings to bear his experience as:

  • Chief Counsel for Canada’s national regulator of public equity exchanges and marketplaces (Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada);
  • Enforcement Counsel for the British Columbia Securities Commission;
  • Crown Counsel for the Ministry of Attorney General;
  • Several years in private practice;
  • Co-Chair of the CBA BC Branch’s Civil Litigation Section; and
  • Executive Officer of the CBA BC Branch’s Securities Law Section.

“Chilwin Cheng is a critical thinker, with strong analytical abilities. He is not afraid to ask the tough questions – but at the same time – is a positive partner, whose active encouragement and support keeps the end goal in mind. We were pleased to have Chilwin work with us to close some gaps in our planning and investing process. As a result, we gained new awareness of how we could link and leverage our work for positive social change.”

Deborah Irvine, Vice-President, Community Impact and Investment, United Way of the Lower Mainland

“We needed simple, practical, and cost-effective senior-level securities and corporate advice to help us structure our venture financing and corporate finance business appropriately. Ascendion delivered. We found Chilwin’s unique combination of executive experience, business knowledge, and technical legal skills helped us create our strategy. We’ll be looking to have Chilwin help us make deals happen.”

-Omar Ladak, Partner, Noverra Capital and Consulting Partners, Vancouver, BC, September 2009

“Ascendion helped Asana Health Products Canada position itself for growth. Chilwin re-organized our capital structure to make us more attractive for private investment, presented us with financing options, and gave us sound advice on many aspects of our supply-chain and sales distribution operation. We continue to rely on Chilwin to solve our ongoing legal and business strategy challenges. By proposing creative fee arrangements, we feel like Chilwin is working with us, not against us and we never feel reluctant to pick up the phone to ask his advice. He’s a real entrepreneur and advisor.”

-Cory Cuthbert, President and Founder, Asana Health Products Canada Inc. and Asana Health Products International Inc.
